Rearranged Events

FIXTURE REARRANGEMENTS

Dear all, Mr Doyle has performed nothing short of a miracle to reorganise the Season and keep us with 6 Events.

CHESTER

Chester has been rearranged for Sunday 22nd September 2024 and will now be our Season finale Event, the usual all dayer of Texas Scramble, 18 holes pm, evening meal and presentations.

The cost is slightly higher than Wrexham unfortunately, but we think it’s a small price to pay extra to save the Season. It will be £92 for the full day.

WREXHAM

The Wrexham Event date remains the same, ie Sunday 11th August, but it will revert to being a usual 18 hole Event @ the usual £50. They have put their prices up significantly, but Mr Doyle has negotiated them down to £51.50, however, the Society will handle the shortfall this time.

CHESTER PAYMENTS

Payments received for this Sunday’s cancelled Event at Chester will be credited and paid against your next attended Event. I’ll keep a record of everyone’s credits.

Some have in fact even already paid for Houghwood, and in that case I’ll roll your credit forward again.

We trust everyone will be ok with all of the above, a massive vote of thanks goes to John for sorting this, he does a massive amount of work behind the scenes which deserves a big round of applause!

Chester Event Cancelled!!

The first Event at Chester is officially cancelled guys.

John’s been in touch with the Club and due to the amount of rain we’ve been having, at this moment, only 8 or 9 holes are open for play. It is highly unlikely that it would be fully open on Sunday as more rain is forecast this week.

So, we’re not messing about and to give everyone fair warning we’ve decided to cancel it.

John is looking at options to reschedule later in the year, and we’ll keep you updated.

Handicap updates

The Handicap committee (Fitzy, Daz & Jeff) have reviewed everyone's handicap and with the target of making everyone competitive (as much as we can) we have adjusted quite few. The 2 Division winners have both come down (sorry Skipper) but the majority have gone up 1 or 2 shots. All new members will have their handicaps reviewed after the first 2 games and adjusted to suit.

We are also introducing a change for this year to help everyone remain competitive. Any player that finishes outside the top 3 on the day will get 0.5 of a shot back. Your handicap with then be rounded up for the next game essentially giving you an additional shot. If then at the next game you again finish outside the top 3 you will get another 0.5 of a shot back but wont gain a shot for the next game, and so on. So in the case you don't finish in the top 3 at any game you would essentially get 3 shots back (to a maximum handicap of 28) over the season.

Hope this is clear but i will explain face to face at our first game at Chester.

Cheers Fitzy
