Worsley Marriott 2022
Well, what a wonderful whirlwind of a weekend Worsley was!
The venue, the accommodation and the food (especially the cheesecake...) was top notch and the course was an absolute cracker, even the weather played ball and, as ever, the company was just brilliant (the booze discount definitely got an absolute hammering!)
A monumental round of thanks goes to John Doyle for organising the weekend and particularly in liaising and negotiating with Worsley over them muddling up tee time bookings, etc. What a star! An additional vote of thanks is due as well to John Chapman and Graham Donnelly for organising the order of play, the draw, and generally organising yet another highly successful Society weekend.
Well done to everyone who picked up the NTP winnings, and special mention for 'our' Carl Ambrose who won the Saturday Stableford Comp and 'Fast' Eddie Murray and Graham Don for retaining their Sunday Pairs Comp crown.

2023 EVENTS
26/3 Prestatyn 11.00 tee 23/4 Leigh 12.00 tee 28/5 Ashton in Makerfield 11.00 tee 2/7 Wrexham 10.30 tee 23/7 Mold 11.03 tee subject to change 3/9 Pryors Hays 8am and 1.30pm tees Deposits have been paid out of society funds for all events except Mold as they are unable to confirm tee times until 2023. Captain's Day 2022
Cap'n Daz will be having his final day in the sun as our leader on Sunday 2nd October 2022 at Eastham Lodge GC, with the first tee being at 12.00 noon, so arrival before 11.00 for bacon roll and the draw. We'll be playing for the Memorial Shield along with a Trophy contributed by the Cap himself.
Although the cost of the day is being met out of Society funds, Daz will be collecting for his nominated Charity on the day from all participants, so could you let him know if you would like to attend so he can finalise a list of attendees please.
End of Season Prizegiving
...and so to the 2022 Season Winners, and sweeping to the First Division title thanks to a series of absolutely impeccable displays, amassing an astounding 141 Points with his best 4 scores, was Shaun Johnston, with Colin Lewis second on 132 Points and Danny Parr finishing Third on 123 Points. Congratulations to Shaun on an excellent Season back in the fold after injury!
The Second Division title was a lot tighter, with any one from four or five in with a shout at the start of play. However, the victorious Winner with 122 Points was Peter Batey, with Jeff Burgess in Second place on 113 Points and Chris Sullivan Third with 112 Points. Congratulations to Peter in only his second Season with the Society!
Individual Event Winners over the Season were:
Leasowe - Colin Lewis, Vicars Cross - Andy Fitz, Wrexham I - Shaun Johnston, Pryors Hayes - Andy Fitz, Wrexham II - Les Hornby and Antrobus - Shaun Johnston.
The Team Winners of the Final Event 9 Hole Texas Scramble were Ian Stevo, Carl Ambrose, Chris Sullivan and guest Craig Riley and the 'Yellow Ball' Team Winners of the Final Event were Mark McNally, John Chapman and that man again, Shaun Johnston.
And finally, the Winner(s) of the inaugural Pairs Competition (sponsored by BPH Tool Hire, the North West's only place to go to for all your Power Tool requirements, from 6" Vibrating Pokers to Hole Drills complete with lubricant) was Shaun Johnston....and Shaun Johnston, who played with himself all Season.
