A bright and blustery day greeted our group of 13 swishers at Pryors Hayes GC, injuries and holidays having reduced our usual numbers, but enthusiasm more than made up for this (hopefully) one-off hiccup to attendance.
Despite the wind and the greens being a little hard after the recent dry spell, the experience was very positive and over half of our group returned scores in the 30s!
So to the results, in joint third place with 33 points were Danny Parr, Ian Stevo and Alan Dennis, whilst tied on top with 35 points, were Shaun Johnston and Andy Fitz. But with a superior back 9 score, our winner, with a brilliant bounce-back after taking home the Goose last time out at Wrexham, was Vice-Skipper Andy Fitz. Well in Fitzy!
Meantime, 2 out of 3 NTPs were won by on fire Ian Stevo, so hopefully he can pay to sort out his dodgy boiler...and he also converted both as 2s, whilst Shaun Johnston scooped the third. Alan Dennis also made a 2 on the third hole. Well done one and all!
And finally, propping up the scores with 16 points, his duck was finally broken by our beloved plastic fantastic goose, as our wonderful Skipper Daz, took her home for the first time ever!

Our wonderful Secretary, Mr. Doyle, certainly landed us with an absolute crackerjack of a course at Wrexham. All 18 of our eager floggers were in unanimous agreement that this was one we definitely want to return to.
Sunshine and a bit of a breeze made playing conditions perfect as well.
There were a few decent knocks returning scores in the 30s, but in third place with 32 points was Mr. Consistent, Colin Lewis, second, with an excellent 35 points was the rebel without a shirt, Peter Batey, but returning an outstanding score of 37 points, was Mr. Lovely Legs himself, Shaun Johnston. Well in Shaun!
NTPs were won by Shaun Johnston, Jeff Burgess and Bob Stewart, with 2s also being converted by Shaun, Jeff and Colin Newall. Nice one boys.
And finally, our beautiful Gwydd, renamed Blodwyn for our Welsh outing, went back over the border in the company of last month's Winner, our Vice-Cap and stand-in for Darren for the day, Andy Fitz, beating off some very, very close competition, with his return of 20 points!

A perfect day for golf with plenty of sunshine plus a good fresh breeze met our 20 strong group of hopefuls for our second outing of the year at Vicars Cross.
Scoring was fairly moderate as we discovered the reasons for the Vicar's Crossness as being the tricky greens and a clever, devilish layout of this great course!
So the final scores on the Vicar's doors were, tied in 3rd spot on 27 points, 2 out of 3 Colins (Lewis and Newall) and Shaun Johnston, with two tied at the top on 30 points being Carl Ambrose and Vice-Captain Fitzy . However, with the superior back 9 score, the overall Winner was our Vice-Cap, Andy Fitzpatrick. Well done Fitzy!!
NTPs were won by Alan Dennis, Colin Lewis and once again, Fitzy, making that two on the trot for him. Colin also converted his NTP to get a brilliant 2 on the 18th as well.
And finally, our eternally gorgeous Gertie Goose went home with a very worried expression on her face in the company of a jubilant Bob Stewart, thanks to a magnificent 14 points!

...And away!!
The long awaited 2022 Season got off to a flier at Leasowe in glorious Spring sunshine for a 17-strong group under the leadership of our shiny new Skipper, Daz.
Scores were generally well bunched showing that the Handicap system is working well in balancing everyone out.
At the weigh-in, in 3rd spot, was Chris Sullivan, picking up where he left off on last year's Captain's Day with a commendable 30 points, however, two excellent scores of 32 points were carded by both Peter Batey and Colin Lewis at the top. However, with the superior back 9 score of 18 points versus 15 points, the overall Winner was Colin Lewis. well done Col!!
NTPs were won by John Chappo, Toddy Hodson and our Vice-Captain for 2022, Fitzy.
And finally, having spent a Winter break roosting at Ex-Captain Dennis' homestead, our phony feathered friend was awarded to our own Long Haired Lover from Liverpool, Danny Parr, for his stuttering 16 points.
