...and the moment you've all been waiting for, the Handicap Committee's review for the start of the 2023 Season!
All Handicaps in the Members tab are now up to date.
New Members have been given a Handicap of -2 from advised Handicaps to begin with, until a fuller assessment can be made following submission of 2 cards as per the Constitution.
Other Members' adjustments have been made operating General Play principles, again as per the Constitution, Division Winners dropping Handicaps, Relegated Members or those really struggling increasing Handicaps, etc.
We know this can be the most emotive subject of all, but please remember guys, we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that we are a Social Society, with the main objective being to enjoy the game...and the craic of course!
Note for your calendars girls, we've cancelled Mold in July due to their insistence on 3 balls only for Societies at weekends and Doyley has managed to get us booked in at the magnificent Chester GC at Curzon Park instead.
Wonderful venue where we played our Season finale in 2019.
It's slightly more expensive than most, so we won't make any contribution to prize funds, etc, but we agreed it was too good an opportunity to miss.
We will be limited to 6 tees however, i.e. 24 places, so get your name down early for a fantastic course in the glorious Summertime!
Welcome to all our new Members for the 2023 Season, increasing our membership to a magnificent 28 strong mob of hopeful floggers!
James Oliver, Mark Roden, Mark Lewis, Philip Hodgkiss, Paul Towers, Mike Towell and Callum Newall, welcome, welcome, one and all.
As mentioned in the email circulated, given the increased numbers, we do have to manage Tee Bookings a little more carefully, as Doyley books the courses up to 12 months in advance, normally advising a group of 20 golfers, which is of course 5 tees maximum.
So, given the increased Membership, we need to liaise with each club in turn asap, ensuring they can accommodate an additional one or two tees, should we need them, as it would seem more likely that we will have at least 20 for each Event, and even if it were just 21 Attendees, that still means having 6 tees.
It is very important therefore to click on your Event Attendance, absolutely by each Event Deadline Confirmation date shown, or sooner if at all possible, please. This will enable us to check in with each club to make sure that we can all be accommodated.
We obviously want to avoid imposing a first come first served approach, as that really isn't what our Society is about.
Anyhow, good luck to everyone for the Season with a special Gertie Goose welcome to you all with open arms...
Attention fellow Goose dodgers, the Minutes from the AGM have been circulated and so we're now pressing everyone for your Subs for 2023.
