Lee Park GC, 18th July 2021

On a real scorcher of a day, our 18-strong Group of Factor 50 oiled up pin seekers tackled the fabulous Lee Park, which had been set up for their own Championship, and as a consequence it was in perfect nick.

The incredible heat of the day tested the stamina of many, but there were still 3 scores returned of 30 points and over. Guest, Jimmy Dumbell weighed in with a creditable 30 points, the growingly consistent Colin Lewis scored an excellent 32 points, but towering above all with a 'dazzling' 33 in very trying conditions was our Vice-Cap, Mr Darren White. Congratulations Daz!

NTPs were won by your Captain, Mr Alan Dennis, Colin Lewis (for two on the trot), and big JR himself, Mr. John Robinson.

The only 2 Bagger this time around was Daz, underlining his excellent form on the day, to make a clean sweep of the prize golf balls on offer.

And finally, the most deserved and popular recipient of our dear old Gertie for some time, along with his bonus booby hatching goose chick golf ball prize, with a stunning score of 15 Points, was our beloved Mr. Ian Stevenson.

Vale of Llangollen GC, 11th July 2021

A brilliant course was enjoyed by a merry band of 20 swingers ahead of the Euro final (nuff said)

The difficulty of the course didn't prevent the return of some decent scores of 30 points and over however, with Bob Sneddon alongside the ever steady former champ, Colin Newell both carding 30 points, whilst Colin Lewis took second place on his tod with 31 points, but with a whopping 37 points and calls for a drugs test, the clear winner in Welsh Wales, just days ahead of his 21st Birthday, was one of our new Members, Jeff Burgess.

Unbelievable Jeff...

NTPs were won by the returning Graham Leasor and Andy Miller, plus our current Division 1 champ, John Chapman, well done boyos (see what I did there)

Baggers of 2s this time around were Graham Leasor, Danny Parr and both the Chapman boys, Ronnie and Reggie. Nice one.

And finally, with possibly the shortest stewardship of our beloved, eternally recycled plastic feathered friend, Gertie Goose ever, with a score of dau ddeg (20 in Welsh), was Andy Fitzy, our own one and only 'Beef'

Grange Park GC, 27th June 2021

What a fabulous course this was for our happy group of 17 hopefuls to enjoy, in brilliant nick, and the weather was just perfect too.

Decent scoring saw a flurry of scores over the 30 points barrier, including 3 scores of 32 points from Mark McNally, Colin Lewis and John Chappo, plus the Skipper with 33 points, but with his maiden victory in the Society was Colin 'Toddy' Hodson, with an excellent 35 points. Congratulations Toddy!

NTPs were ironically won by the Society's two Flagstick models. Mr. Par 3, Bob Stewart won two of them to leave with the day having paid for itself, whilst Colin Lewis bagged the third, hopefully to spend on a 3 course meal!

John Chappo meantime took bragging rights for being the only bagger of a 2 this time round.

Our wonderful secretary, Mr. John Doyle just can't bear to be without our beloved Gertie Goose, and notwithstanding a couple of close contenders, he left with her tucked under his arm, with his head held high wearing his prize novelty Putting Green Tam-o-shanter.

Finally, a warmest of welcomes to our newest member, Alfie Parle, great to have you on board.

Antrobus GC, 23rd May 2021

Our long, long awaited return to the fairways finally arrived at a very blustery, but picturesque Antrobus GC, giving our 20 strong group of sturdy golfing heroes a tough welcome back...

It was tight at the top with Bob Stewart, Les Hornby and Colin Newell all returning a very creditable score of 32 points. However, the master of the blowy conditions was Mark McNally with an excellent final total of 34 points. Congratulations to Mark!

The four NTPs were won by Bob Stewart, John Chapman, Colin Newell and our new Vice-cap, Darren White, whilst there was just one 2 on the day, going to Carl Ambrose.

It was the usual close-run scramble for our wonderful Gertie Goose, with Chris Sullivan, Toddy Hodson and Peter Batey all carding 16 points and then scarpering to avoid possibly facing the media, but they needn't have worried, as our beloved Secretary, Mr. John Doyle just couldn't bear to be parted from our plastic Goosey Goddess, as he scored 15 points to ensure she returned back home with him to her roost at Chez Doyley.

Finally, a warmest of welcomes to new members Peter Batey and Jon Rutland, as well as to Tony Moran and Jeff Burgess, who guested with us and were both enticed into joining our merry band.

It's brilliant to be back!!!
